From Mumbai International Airport

By Arranged Transfer (Recommended)

Fazlani offers arranged airport transfers for arriving guests. This is the most comfortable option, particularly if you are arriving after a long international flight or are unfamiliar with Indian road conditions. The drive takes approximately 90 minutes via the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, though traffic conditions in Mumbai can add time during peak hours (7 to 10 AM and 5 to 8 PM).

To arrange a transfer, contact Fazlani’s guest services team with your flight details at least 48 hours before arrival. The driver will meet you in the arrivals hall with a name board. Vehicles are air-conditioned and comfortable.

By Self-Arranged Taxi

App-based ride services (Ola, Uber) operate from Mumbai airport to Lonavala. The journey takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on traffic. Alternatively, prepaid taxi counters are available in the airport arrivals area. Confirm the destination as "Fazlani Nature’s Nest, Lonavala" and provide the centre’s address and phone number to the driver.

By Train

Mumbai’s local and long-distance rail network connects to Lonavala station. Trains from Mumbai CST (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus) or Dadar to Lonavala take approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Lonavala station is a short taxi ride (15 to 20 minutes) from the centre. Train travel is scenic (the Bhor Ghat section through the Western Ghats is particularly beautiful) and inexpensive, though not recommended for guests with heavy luggage or those arriving on long international flights.

From Pune International Airport

By Arranged Transfer (Recommended)

The drive from Pune airport to Fazlani takes approximately 70 minutes via the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The road is well-maintained and the route is straightforward. Airport transfers can be arranged through Fazlani’s guest services team.

By Self-Arranged Taxi

App-based ride services operate from Pune airport. The journey is shorter and typically has less traffic congestion than the Mumbai route, making Pune a convenient alternative arrival point, especially for guests connecting through domestic flights or arriving from cities with better Pune connectivity.

By Train

Pune Junction to Lonavala by train takes approximately 1.5 hours. Trains are frequent on this route. Lonavala station is a short taxi ride from the centre.

International Flight Connections

Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) is one of India’s busiest international airports with direct flights from Dubai and Abu Dhabi (2.5 to 3 hours), London (9 to 10 hours), Frankfurt and other European hubs (8 to 10 hours), Singapore (5.5 hours), Bangkok (4.5 hours), Kuala Lumpur (5.5 hours), New York (via direct flights, approximately 16 hours), Nairobi (5 hours), and many other international destinations.

Pune International Airport (PNQ) has a growing number of international connections, primarily to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, and Bangkok, with domestic connections from all major Indian cities.

For guests arriving from cities without direct Mumbai or Pune service, connecting through Delhi, Bengaluru, or a Gulf hub (Dubai, Abu Dhabi) is typical.

Arrival Timing Recommendations

For International Guests

If arriving on a morning international flight, you can typically reach Fazlani by early afternoon, settle in, and have your intake consultation the same day or the following morning.

If arriving on an evening or overnight flight, consider spending one night in Mumbai to rest before travelling to the centre. The medical team recommends beginning your programme reasonably rested rather than exhausted from travel. A night in Mumbai also provides a buffer against flight delays.

For Domestic Guests

From Mumbai city, the drive to Fazlani takes 2 to 3 hours depending on traffic and your starting point. Early morning or mid-morning departure avoids the worst traffic.

From Pune, the drive is 1 to 1.5 hours and traffic is generally less congested than the Mumbai route.

From other Indian cities, domestic flights to Mumbai or Pune are frequent and inexpensive. Budget airlines operate extensive networks from Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and other cities.

The Journey: What to Expect on the Road

The Mumbai-Pune Expressway is one of India’s best highways: six lanes, well-maintained, with regular rest stops and amenities. The scenery transitions from the coastal plain around Mumbai through the dramatic Bhor Ghat section of the Western Ghats (tunnels, mountain passes) and into the Deccan Plateau.

The Lonavala exit leads to local roads that wind through the Sahyadri foothills. The final approach to Fazlani Nature’s Nest passes through green, hilly terrain that feels remarkably different from the urban environment you have just left. This transition from city to nature is, for many guests, the first step in the therapeutic process.

Road conditions on the expressway are excellent. Local roads near Lonavala are generally good, though narrower and with more curves. During the monsoon season (June to September), the hills are spectacularly green and waterfalls appear everywhere, though road conditions may be slower due to rain and fog.

Climate and What to Expect on Arrival

Lonavala sits at approximately 625 metres (2,050 feet) elevation. The climate is notably cooler and less humid than Mumbai, particularly in the evenings.

October to February brings pleasant, cool weather with temperatures between 12 and 28 degrees Celsius. Mornings and evenings can be quite cool. This is considered ideal weather for Panchakarma.

March to May brings warmer weather, with temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius on hot days. Evenings remain comfortable at this elevation.

June to September is the monsoon season. Rainfall is heavy, the property is spectacularly green, and the climate is humid. Ayurvedic tradition considers the monsoon an ideal time for oleation therapies. The cooler, moist air supports the preparation phase of Panchakarma.
