Dr. Athira Kaladharan, BAMS
Dr. Athira Kaladharan leads the Panchakarma division at Fazlani Nature’s Nest. She is a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) with over a decade of clinical experience in Panchakarma therapeutics.
Qualifications and Training
BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery). Post-Graduate Diploma in Acupuncture and Marma Therapy (PGDip). Yoga Instructor Certificate (YIC) from a recognised institution. Certificate in Fitness Training (CFT). Additional training in classical Panchakarma protocols under senior Vaidyas.
Clinical Approach
Dr. Athira combines classical Ayurvedic methodology with evidence-informed clinical assessment. Her approach to Panchakarma is conservative and patient-centred: she will not prescribe a procedure that is not clinically indicated for your specific situation, regardless of what you may have read about or requested.
Her clinical interests include Panchakarma for musculoskeletal conditions and chronic pain, women’s hormonal health and reproductive wellness, metabolic syndrome and lifestyle-related disorders, integrating acupuncture and marma therapy within Panchakarma protocols, and post-operative recovery and rehabilitation through Ayurvedic therapeutics.
Role at Fazlani
As lead Panchakarma physician, Dr. Athira conducts the detailed intake assessment for every Panchakarma guest. She designs the personalised treatment protocol including procedure selection, sequencing, herbal formulations, and dietary prescriptions. She monitors every guest’s progress through daily clinical check-ins. She adjusts protocols based on treatment response, and she provides the discharge consultation and post-care plan.
Dr. Athira is the medical reviewer for all clinical content on this knowledge hub. Her name on an article means she has reviewed its clinical accuracy and confirmed that it reflects the standard of care at Fazlani.
All medical consultations with Dr. Athira are conducted in English.
Dr. Pramod Mane
Dr. Pramod Mane brings over 21 years of experience in integrative wellness and heads the Amarine Wellness division at Fazlani Nature’s Nest. His work bridges Ayurvedic principles with contemporary wellness science.
Experience and Expertise
Over two decades of clinical practice in wellness and integrative health. Leadership of the Amarine Wellness programme, which complements the Panchakarma division with broader wellness, detoxification, and rejuvenation offerings. Experience in managing guests with complex health profiles that require coordination between traditional and modern approaches. Expertise in lifestyle medicine and preventive health within an Ayurvedic framework.
Role at Fazlani
Dr. Pramod oversees the wellness programmes that complement Panchakarma, including general wellness assessments, rejuvenation protocols for guests who may not require full Panchakarma, and integrative approaches for guests with conditions that benefit from both Ayurvedic and contemporary modalities. For Panchakarma guests, Dr. Pramod may be involved in cases where integrative consultation adds value, particularly for guests with complex conventional medical histories.
Dr. Bornoshree Bori, Naturopathic Doctor
Dr. Bornoshree Bori specialises in acupuncture, cupping therapy, and pain management. She supports Panchakarma guests who present with musculoskeletal or chronic pain conditions.
Qualifications and Expertise
Naturopathic Doctor with specialisation in pain management. Certified acupuncturist. Trained in cupping therapy and related modalities. Experience in managing chronic pain, musculoskeletal conditions, and rehabilitation.
Role at Fazlani
Dr. Bornoshree works alongside the Panchakarma physicians to provide complementary pain management support. For guests undergoing Panchakarma for chronic pain, osteoarthritis, cervical spondylosis, or fibromyalgia, she may provide acupuncture sessions integrated into the treatment schedule, cupping therapy for specific pain conditions, pain assessment and monitoring using validated clinical scales, and coordination with the Panchakarma protocol to ensure all interventions work together.
Her involvement is prescribed by the lead physician when clinically indicated. Not every Panchakarma guest will see Dr. Bornoshree; her expertise is directed where it adds specific clinical value.
The Therapy Team
The physicians are supported by a team of qualified therapists trained in specific Panchakarma procedures. These therapists perform Abhyanga (therapeutic oil massage), Shirodhara, Swedana (sudation), localised Basti therapies, and other hands-on treatments under physician supervision.
The therapy team at Fazlani is trained in-house under the medical team’s protocols. This ensures consistency of technique and adherence to the clinical standards that NABH accreditation requires. Therapists do not make independent clinical decisions; all treatment parameters (oil selection, pressure, duration, technique variation) are prescribed by the physician.
The Yoga Team
Qualified yoga professionals support the Panchakarma programme with adapted practices for each treatment phase. Yoga during Panchakarma is not a generic fitness class. It is prescribed movement and breathing therapy that supports the specific physiological processes of each treatment stage.
During preparation (Poorvakarma), yoga focuses on opening the body’s channels and supporting the oleation process. During primary procedures (Pradhanakarma), yoga is gentle and restorative, supporting the eliminative processes. During recovery (Paschatkarma), yoga gradually rebuilds strength and stability.
The yoga team adapts all practices for individual ability, age, and condition. Senior guests, guests with mobility limitations, and guests with specific conditions receive modified practices appropriate to their capacity.
How the Team Works Together
Fazlani’s multidisciplinary approach means the physicians, therapists, yoga professionals, and dietary team communicate about your programme. This is not a collection of independent practitioners managing their own client relationships within a hotel framework. It is an integrated clinical team where the physician leads and all team members work from the same protocol.
This structure is supported by Fazlani’s NABH accreditation, which requires documented clinical protocols, defined roles and responsibilities, and accountability systems that ensure continuity of care. See The NABH Standard of Care at Fazlani.
Frequently Asked Questions
