Fazlani Aishabai & Haji Abdul Latif Charitable Trust
Est. 1980
Education. Health. Empowerment.
Dedicated to empowering underprivileged communities through education, healthcare, and vocational training — serving humanity since 7 July 1980.
Building a Legacy of Compassion
For more than four decades, the Fazlani Aishabai & Haji Abdul Latif Charitable Trust has worked tirelessly to uplift India’s most underserved communities. Established on 7 July 1980 by Dr. Abdul Kader Fazlani, the Trust is the dedicated philanthropic arm of the Sopariwala Group of Companies. Its vision is bold yet simple: to create a better and equal society where there is education, health, and empowerment for all.
From the municipal school classrooms of Mumbai to rural communities in Maharashtra and Gujarat, the Trust’s mission is unwavering: to promote the education of the weaker sections of society and to provide medical aid to the needy. Today the Trust impacts 20,000–25,000 people each year directly or indirectly through its network of schools, colleges, vocational centres, a children’s village, and partnerships with other charitable organisations.
Our Core Pillars
Medical Aid & Community Health
The Trust provides medical assistance to 5,000–6,000 poor patients each year. Our fully equipped Mobile Medical Van brings primary and curative healthcare directly to remote villages surrounding Jamila Arif Children’s Village. For complex cases, our telemedicine facility connects rural patients with specialists at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai. We also provide direct financial assistance for patients requiring dialysis, cardiac treatment, and other critical care, as well as free meal distribution and humanitarian support for patients’ families in government hospitals.
Vocational Training & Empowerment
Through the Fazlani Institute of Vocational Education (FIVE), we equip 200–300 men and women each year from underserved communities with market-ready skills — from AC and refrigerator repair, electrical work, and computer training to beautician courses, fashion design, and tailoring. All courses are provided free of cost and are affiliated with Government Polytechnic Bandra (Mumbai), SNDT Women’s University, and M.H. Saboo Siddik Polytechnic under the CDTP Scheme. Training cycles range from 3 months to 1 year, and graduates receive government-recognised certification upon completion.
Children’s Welfare
Jamila Arif Children’s Village (JACV) is a registered residential children’s home situated on the campus of Fazlani Nature’s Nest at Takwe, near Lonavla. JACV provides redemptive and healing services that bring meaningful changes to the lives of orphaned and destitute children. Special care is taken of their material and emotional needs, and caretakers help them imbibe ethical values and good habits. Children are brought from a very young age and remain until they are settled in life. All children study at Fazlani International School on the same campus.
Education
Education is the foundation of everything we do. Through MCGM School Support partnerships, our own network of schools and colleges, targeted scholarship programmes, and distance-learning centres, we bring quality learning to children and young adults who would otherwise be left behind. Each year, 6,000–6,500 students study in Trust-supported schools, a further 1,000–1,200 receive scholarships, 700–800 pursue distance-learning qualifications, and 5,000–6,000 additional students benefit through donations to other educational trusts.
